Refund Policy for Spellwork: What You Pay For, What Comes Back, and When
A refund policy is a contract you can read before your money leaves your hand. Mine is short, it is specific, and it is the same on this page as it is on the Pricing page. If the two ever disagree, Pricing governs and I owe you a correction here.
You are paying for craft, time, materials, and documentation. You are not paying for an outcome, because nobody honest sells one. A working can be timed to the moon, packed with the right dirt, sealed and documented to the letter, and the man you want gone can still drag his feet for a season because he has a lawyer, a mother, and a stubborn streak. I control the work. I do not control him. The fee structure below is built on that line.
Two desks, two fees each
Every case on this site runs through one of two desks, and each desk charges in two parts.
| Desk | First fee | Second fee |
|---|---|---|
| Case Desk — I cast for you | $75 intake & divination, paid up front, written reading within 72 hours of payment | Ritual fee (from $220 to $525 depending on the working; complex cases quoted higher), due after you sign off on the written protocol and before casting begins |
| Design Desk — you cast, I design | $75 fit-check divination, paid up front, reading within 72 hours of payment | Tier fee: $225 for Tier A, $475 for Tier B, invoiced only after the fit-check says the working is designable, safe, and mine to write |
The first fee buys my read of your case. The second buys the work. Keep them separate in your head, because the refund rules treat them differently. The one item on the Pricing page outside this frame is the consultation-only call ($150, one hour on video): there is no ritual stage, so there is no second fee. The hour is the service.
Rule one: the $75 is never refunded
The intake fee and the fit-check fee are non-refundable in all cases. Not if I decline you. Not if you change your mind. Not if the reading tells you something you did not want to hear. That $75 pays for the hours I spend with your description, the cards, the pendulum, and a pen before I decide whether this case is mine to take. I do that reading whether the answer is yes or no, so the fee stands whether the answer is yes or no.
If that feels hard, compare it to a consult with a lawyer or a contractor who drives out to look at your foundation. You pay for the look. The look is the work.
Rule two: if I decline, the second fee never exists
If the divination says no — the case is not safe, not mine to touch, not what you described, or not something magic should be asked to do — the ritual fee is never charged and the tier fee is never invoiced. You are out $75 and you have a written reading that says why. That is the whole transaction.
Rule three: the ritual fee (Case Desk)
- Before you sign off on the protocol: you have not paid it yet, so there is nothing to refund.
- Paid, but before the first working night: ritual fee back, less any materials already bought for your case, itemized. Once the first night is lit the working is in motion; I finish it and document it.
- If anything on my side stops a working: ritual fee back in full, with the record of what was done.
- If I deviate from your written protocol without your consent: full refund of the ritual fee once the discrepancy is shown. You get a sealed case record with every working. Hold it against the protocol you approved. If I swapped a material, skipped a step, or moved a date without telling you, show me and the fee comes back in full.
- Once the working is complete: no refund of the ritual fee. The candles have burned, the jar is buried, the dirt is where it belongs, and the hours are spent. Completed work is completed work.
The $75 intake fee is separate from all three lines and stays non-refundable regardless.
Rule four: the tier fee (Design Desk)
- Cancel before the 90-minute consult call: full refund of the tier fee.
- Cancel after the consult but before I deliver the written protocol: 50% refund. You had my time on the call; you did not get the document.
- Cancel after protocol delivery: no refund. The protocol is the product and it is in your hands.
- Craft-integrity clause: if the delivered protocol materially misrepresents what we agreed on the consult call, and I refuse to correct it in the one revision pass every tier includes, you receive a full refund of the tier fee. This is the Design Desk's version of Rule three, line two: my mistake, my money.
Design tiers never include the cost of casting. You buy your own materials and you do your own ritual. Nothing about that is refundable through me because none of it was paid to me.
What is not a refund condition
Disappointment is not a service failure. If the working was completed as agreed and documented in your case record, the fact that your neighbor has not moved yet, the judge has not ruled yet, or the door you wanted opened is still only cracked does not make the fee refundable. Results run on no clock I control. Some cases shift inside a week; some never move the way you wanted, and the reading will have named that risk before you paid the second fee. Some cases need more than one cycle. I say this in the reading and here, so nobody can claim they were not told.
A result deadline is not a refund condition unless it was written into your protocol before you paid the second fee. I do not write result deadlines into protocols. Nobody honest does.
What does earn a review
Raise a concern the moment you see one. The questions I will take seriously, on their facts:
- Was the agreed work actually completed?
- Does what was delivered match the scope in the written protocol?
- Did you receive the documentation and follow-up the working includes — the written reading, the sealed case record, the follow-up call or check-in your tier lists?
Write to intake@thornworkrituals.com with your case reference, what you understood you were buying, what you received, and where the two part ways. Specific beats angry. I answer with what was done, what the record shows, and what happens next. A review is not a promise that money comes back; it is how we tell a service problem from a result that is still cooking.
How the timeline actually runs
- Day 0: you submit the intake form and receive a Stripe invoice for $75 by email within one business day.
- Within 72 hours of that payment: your written divination reading arrives, with a yes or a no.
- On a yes: I write the protocol. You read it, ask your questions, and sign off. Then the ritual fee or tier fee is invoiced.
- After that payment: casting or drafting begins. Uncrossing runs about two weeks; thornwork three to five; protection two to three; road-opening two to four; ancestor work three to six; court work runs the length of the case. Design Tier A runs one to two weeks, Tier B two to three.
- After delivery: the sealed case record, the follow-up, and whatever refresh your working includes. The refund rules above are frozen at the moment you paid; I do not move them afterward.
Payment, plainly
All fees in USD; any North Carolina tax that applies shows on the invoice. Stripe by emailed invoice. Discreet line-item description on request. Payment plans for workings over $400 — two or three equal payments, casting after the first, record after the last — if you ask in your intake. Something wrong? Write to the desk with your reference before you call your bank; I answer with the record, and chargebacks on completed, documented work are contested with it. Sliding scale for survivors of domestic violence and stalking, case by case, same place to ask. No cash, no crypto, no barter for services; this is a business with taxes and paperwork, and paperwork is how you hold me to every line on this page.
Questions worth answering first
Is the $75 intake fee ever refunded?
No. It pays for my time reading your case before I decide anything, and that time is spent whether I take the case or not.
If Dana declines my case, what do I owe?
The $75 you already paid. Nothing else. The ritual fee or tier fee is never charged on a declined case.
Is completed spellwork refundable?
No. Once the working is cast and documented, the ritual fee stays. The one exception is my own fault: if I deviated from your approved protocol without your consent, the ritual fee comes back in full once you show the discrepancy against the case record.
I bought a Design Desk tier and want out. What comes back?
All of the tier fee before the consult call, half of it after the call but before the protocol arrives, none of it after delivery. If the protocol misrepresents what we agreed and I refuse to fix it in the revision pass, all of it.
How long until the work is done?
The divination reading arrives within 72 hours of the $75 payment. Casting starts after you approve the protocol and pay the second fee, and runs two to six weeks depending on the working. Results are a separate clock, and not one I control; the reading names the risk before you pay the second fee.
